HELP DISADVANTAGED WOMEN
I am a Volunteer with Fitted For Work and I love what they do for women who really do need help.
I am inviting you to please make a donation this Christmas. Lara xxx
Since 2005, Fitted for Work (‘FFW’) has transformed the lives of more than 18,000 women. As a not-for-profit organisation and the first of it’s kind in Australia, their mission is to help women experiencing disadvantage get work and keep it. FFW provides a free personal dressing service, interview training, mentoring, career resilience and transition to work programs.
Working in the Melbourne boutique, dressing women who need help to get back into the workforce, is one of the highlights of my week. I work alongside amazing volunteers who are so committed to looking after clients and making their time with us friendly, supportive and productive. The women we help are the ones who make it so rewarding. Despite the fact that they have experienced such adversity in their lives, they come to us at a stage where they have chosen to commit to making positive changes and joining the workforce. Some days working there can be emotional and heartbreaking, hearing what certain women have to deal with, however it is mostly uplifting, humbling and sooo rewarding to see them leave ready for job interviews and feeling excited about their future …
I would like to ask you to consider donating to Fitted For Work, however small, to raise funds that will be critical in helping another 4,000 women in 2015. FFW don’t receive government funding, so the only way they can keep these free services running is to fundraise.
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas! Lara – The Paper Doll xxx
